METHODOLOGY
Research Design
This study is a descriptive evaluation research. It is designed to study the cause and effect relationship between exposure of whitening product’s advertisement and effectiveness of these ads in persuading consumer’s decision. The study is determined to evaluate whether this kind of cause and effect relationship between advertisement and consumer’s behavior is existing to the First Year Female Social Science Division of UPCC. In addition, this study is a combination of descriptive at the same evaluative research. It seeks to reach its aim to evaluate the impacts, effects of the relationship that exists between exposure and behavior of the consumer.
The collection of data is through survey method with the use of probability sampling, specifically cluster sampling. This study uses set of questionnaires that seeks to answer the hypothesis of our study. Moreover, answers of each respondent will be critically analyzed and assessed by the researchers.

Sampling Procedure.
Researchers use the probability sampling, particularly cluster sampling. Probability sampling procedure is a process giving everybody a chance and opportunity to be part of the study. Thus, probability sampling provides venue for the utilization of some form of random sampling. Random sampling is a technique that guarantees equal and same treatment to various and diverse unit of the population of being chosen as part of the study. While under types of probability sampling, cluster sampling is a method that selects a particular unit or area among variety and range of areas and populations. Furthermore, this particular unit maybe a group, district, region, class or section.
Moreover, researchers use this cluster sampling to ensure that we have specific respondents, which are the First Year Female Social Science Division Students of UPCC, total of 31 students. The survey will be conducted within UP Cebu Campus, most probably inside classrooms. The survey will be in a manner of giving sets of questionnaires, which is composed of four parts. The questions are expected to be treated justly and to be answered sincerely. Researchers are held liable and responsible in conducting this survey research.
In general, this study makes use of cluster sampling, as seen to be efficient way in gathering the maximum amount of knowledge and facts about the study.
Respondents
Research’s respondents are the First Year Female Students of Social Science Division of UPCC. Respondents are composed of 20 Female Psychology major students and 11 Female Political Science major students. All in all, this study is made of 31 female student respondents all from Social Science Division. This small unit of respondents is seen to be good amount of respondents to be included and studied in the made research study.
Research Instrument
The researchers use questionnaire as means of research instrument. This type of research instrument is composed of carefully and critically prepared question sets. Questionnaires that are provided by the researchers are set of problems and questions that are profoundly related to the topic of research.
The prepared question sets are composed of factual and opinion type of questions. Factual questions are provided to get respondents’ profile or personal data. In the questionnaire set, the first part is categorized as Personal Profile. This part is asking for personal data such as name, age and course. However, for the benefit of the respondents, researchers applied optional choice for this particular part of the questionnaire. It suggests respect and privacy of the respondents. Moreover, questionnaires are comprised of four part of questions namely the first part Personal Profile, the second part Exposure and Frequency, the third part Advertisement’s Other factors and lastly, the Buying Behavior. Obviously, the questionnaire is divided and categorized to specific field from the given topic.
In the later part of questionnaire, researchers apply opinion type of question. This type of question refers to gathering of respondents’ values, ideas and concept preferring to the laid topic of research paper. Opinion questions seek to pay attention to respondents’ opinion and prejudice of the topic.
Moreover, researchers follow and practice various question structures in the questionnaire. These are the open-ended, closed-ended, contingency and rate and rank structures of question. An open-ended question structure is a question that does not provide a given answer. Thus, answers of these questions directly come from the own perspective of the respondent. On the other hand, closed –ended question structure is a question that supplies already an answer. Largely, this kind of structure goes in a manner of statements or questions that has corresponding given answers. However, open-ended and closed-ended question structure practices different orientation as to contingency question structure. The contingency question structure serves as follow up or back up question to the first question. This type of structure exists if the first question requires a follow up question; it is for the aim to make a clearer view of the idea. Lastly, the rank and rate structure is format of question that gives chance to respondents to rank or rate the given set of choices by means of their own opinion.
Furthermore, all those type of question structures are present to the questionnaire. To elaborate clearly the questionnaire, the second part of it, uses an open-ended question; specifically, in number 8. While numbers 7 to11 serves as closed-ended questions, at the same time contingency questions. Also numbers 1 to 4 serves as closed-ended question. Furthermore, rate and rank questions are in number 5,6 and 7, in this portion respondents are asked to rank and rate kinds of advertisements that are frequently advertised, kind of whitening product that are that frequently exposed and top whitening brands.
On the third part, which is Advertisement’s Other Factors category, researchers utilize the closed-ended question. This portion is made of situational statements that are relevant to whitening product advertisement’s factors and buying behavior of the consumer. This part is mainly focused on advertisement’s messages, models, testimonials and the buying decision of consumer.
While in the last part of questionnaire, the Buying Behavior portion is composed of three types of questions. First, ranking method, it ranks the influencing factors that affects consumer in their brands preference and buying behavior. Second, contingency question in numbers 3 and 6 about frequency of exposure to whitening advertisement does really affect your brand’s preference. Lastly, an open-ended question in number 5 is used. It is about assessment of advertisement’s credibility.
All in all, the questionnaire comprises of four page question sets and consists of 31 questions. This kind of research instruments is used systematically in order to arrive at our aimed goal, which is to gather the most efficient and authentic data related to the topic.
Data Collection
With the use of four page questionnaire, the researchers will conduct a survey in order to gather data. The researchers will distribute these questionnaires to the First Year Female Students of the Social Science Division, our respondents. They will be asked to answer the questionnaires. The survey will be conducted inside the campus of University of the Philippines Cebu College during the allotted time of the researchers.
Data Analysis
After the survey, the collected data will be interpreted analytically and will be presented in tabular and graphical form. In order to arrive to an exact data interpretation, the data must undergo systematic data interpretation. There must be organized and systematic preparation and categorization of data. Then, the categorized data must be placed and presented in a tabular or graphical form. In this way, researchers will now be able to present clearly the results and outcomes of their collected data.
Furthermore, the provided tables and graphs by the researchers will not be clearly understood and analyzed by the readers without the interpretation and analysis of the researchers. The researchers will interpret and explain every presented figure. The researcher will firstly introduce each figure and then will provide the explanation of the result. In the explanation of each figure, the researcher will support their result in relation to their assumption and to other researchers' results. Moreover, the researcher will also discuss the implication of the result and the importance of having those results in relation to the study. The results will be dependent on the laid interpretation and analysis of the researchers from the given answers of the respondents.
