Chapter 4 comment
1. The chosen respondents have the enough knowledge on the study the researchers are conducting and they [respondents] also have the capacity of giving the data needed for this study. (revise)
2. t is easy for the respondents to answer and will not be that time consuming for them. It will be simpler for the researchers to interpret and analyze the data gathered through the use of the questionnaire as the instrument rather than any other instrument. (omit)

CHAPTER IV
METHODOLOGY
Research Design
This study uses descriptive type of research to know the effects of the teaching techniques of the Bio 1 teachers on the grades of the students. This method looks for facts and gives emphasis on present conditions, situations and other phenomena. It provides comprehensive information about a certain subject. Descriptive research is a method of finding facts and interpreting it according to the data gathered and evaluation on the results.
Sampling Procedure
The researchers will use the purposive type of sampling. In this type of sampling, respondents who have the knowledge relevant and important for the study are to be involved. And in this study, students who are taking up Biology 1 classes are sufficient enough to be the respondents.
Research Respondents
The first year BS Management block B students of UP Cebu will be the respondents of the study. The respondents are chosen for they took up Biology 1 classes during the first semester year 2010. Since BSM-I block B students are given the opportunity to take General Education MST subject, the researchers decided to choose these group of respondents. The chosen respondents have the enough knowledge on the study the researchers are conducting and they [respondents] also have the capacity of giving the data needed for this study.
Research Instrument
The primary instrument that the researchers are using is the questionnaire. This instrument helps in the fast data gathering process of the study. It is easy for the respondents to answer and will not be that time consuming for them. It will be simpler for the researchers to interpret and analyze the data gathered through the use of the questionnaire as the instrument rather than any other instrument.
The questionnaire is composed of two kinds. First is the checklist in which the researchers enumerated the qualities of the teachers and their techniques. The checklist will determine the best quality of the teacher and the widely used technique of the teacher. And the other kind is the multiple choice style wherein the students choose the appropriate answers of each query. This can determine the most answers of the respondents of each query.
Data Collection
Questionnaires will be individually- administered to the respondents of the study. The researchers will allot one week for the distribution of the questionnaires. All first year BS Management block B students of UP Cebu that took up Bio 1 last semester will answer the questionnaire. Since not every BSM-1 block B students chose Bio 1 as their G.E. subject, the researchers are going to administer it only to 20 Management students. This number is the total number of Management students who took up Bio 1 last semester.
Data Analysis
After the collection of data through distribution of questionnaires, the researchers are going to tally the data gathered. The number of respondents answering a certain option will be calculated and the percentage of each option will be determined. The biggest percentage of the options will be considered as the answer of a certain question.
Formula: n/N X 100
n: frequency (# of answers in that option) N: total population of respondents
